- Some rules, like those natural forces of the Universe, are unbendable, regardless of how much you may want it to change them.
- Something or someone (bad) is no different from all the others (e.g., All government officials are corrupt, all lawyers are snakes, etc.).

Mgaagaa na upwa hali wali mkavu
Mgaagaa na upwa hali wali mkavu - A person who walks and searches thoroughly around a beach never eats rice with no fish stew.
The above Swahili saying is urging everyone not to give up in their goals or dreams. No matter where you are searching, it is always important not to loose focus on the greater goal which you hope to achieve.
"Keep on keeping on".

Asiyekujua hakuthamini......
Asiyekujua hakuthamini...... meaning, he or she who doesn't know you, doesn't value you.
For the last 1month, our country, Kenya has been suffering from skirmishes set about by the decision of the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK). We as Kenyans went to the poll and chose leaders who we thought had the best interests of the country, and us as Kenyans at heart. Unfortunately that is not the case.
What are the interests of the local Kenyan? I believe I speak for most, if not all, that Kenyans love peace, and loved the concept of "unity", where there would have been "one tribe" that is Kenya. The saddest fact is that this is not the case. Our leaders have propagated disunity and suspicions amongst our people so as to sponsor their agendas. Through inciteful utterances a local Kenya has become hateful and suspicous of the neighbours he/she has lived with for a long time.
These people who we have chosen have not bothered to calm down the masses, and instead, live in luxury, earning their salaries, and other allowances, ignoring the plight of the common people who have been displaced, killed and maimed in these skirmishes. In fact one would think they are happy with the current problem. Because they are "through with us", they do not care what appertains to us, the local Kenyans.
Truth be told, our leaders do not know their constituents, their needs and also their vision for this country. If they knew they would have been the first to stand up and against these clashes. We chose leaders who are unfortunately very selfish, not selfless, short sighted, and greedy.
GOD HELP US ALL.

Ala! Kumbe!
Ala! Kumbe! - meaning I see!! That is so!
A common expression used to show that one is surprised by some information that he or she has just come to know of.
Life can be very interesting. You may live a life without some 'insider information' pertaining to the friends you have (close and far), workmates, relatives and even family members. These people you interact with could be very close with you, encouraging, discouraging, misinforming and even deliberately sabotaging all your efforts.
Another swahili saying that can support the above statement could includes;
"Kikulachao kinguoni mwako - meaning what "eats" you is in the clothes you wear".
Therefore the source of some of the problems that you may be passing through could have been started and fanned by people close to you.
CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY.

Today 24th Jan 08
I do hope that you are all well and doing fine. It has been very discouraging seeing people who are selfish running businesses, organisations and even a country. Sad also is the fact that one may feel helpless, hopeless and without a vision for the future.
But one has to rise up, encourage themselves, and create a perfect vision for themselves. Go out and do great things, not only for themselves but also for other people. Remember no person is an island, reach out and touch somebody, encourage them, strengthen them, be there for them, however small, IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
I leave you with this quote hoping and believing that it will encourage you today.
We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.
